Ashburn (Feb. 3, 2010) - The Stone Bridge High School gymnastics team just didn't repeat their AAA Liberty title Monday night they ended it with an overpowering display on the floor with All-Around champion Amy Fissmer leading a charge to the podium with five Bulldogs finishing in the top six in the event.
When it was all said and done the Bulldogs had scored a team record 141.900 points to take the title with Fissmer scoring 35.950 for the All-Around crown and teammate Tori Severin third at 34.925.
Stone Bridge's depth was evident, especially on the floor where Fissmer scored 9.300 to win and teammates Kelly McCabe and Casey Merwin tied for third at 9.225 followed by Severin in fifth with a 9.100 and Bulldog Chelsea Fonseca in sixth with a 9.000.
Severin, out for a month with an ankle injury, took the vault with an 8.950 and Fissmer was third at 8.800.
The bars were won by TJ's Marisa Katoaka with an 8.900. Severin was runner-up at 8.775 and Fissmer fourth.
Caitie Simpson of Langley won the beam with an 9.300. Fissmer was second at 9.150 and Bulldog Tricia Grywatch was third with a 9.000.
