News: Note from Loudoun County Public Schools Superintendent on Re-opening of Schools Tuesday

Hello. This is Superintendent Ed Hatrick calling to remind you that all Loudoun County Public Schools will open one hour late on Tuesday. Schools are cleared and ready to receive students, but many roads are still not back to normal.

Please exercise caution and patience in the morning. We count on parents to help supervise our return to school in the morning and students’ return to home in the afternoon. Bus drivers have been instructed not to back up on one lane roads for safety reasons, so limiting auto traffic on narrow suburban and rural roads while buses are out will help immensely.

Some roads cannot be served by buses tomorrow. A complete list of those roads and alternate bus pick up points arranged by school can be found on the LCPS Web site.

Thank you for working with us to provide a safe return to school. The final word about safety for students and their return to school rests with parents.
