Friday Playoff Schedule: Three Lax Teams Open State Tournament; Six Loudoun Teams Play for Region II Titles; 11 Total in Action!

(June 3, 2011) - A very busy June Friday playoff schedule has three Loudoun lacrosse teams on the road as the state tournament opens and six teams playing locally for Region II titles and the chance to host a state quarterfinal on Tuesday. 

The Briar Woods boys lacrosse team is at Albemarle while the Loudoun Valley girls are facing Madison at Marshall and the Woodgrove girls travel to Osbourn Park.

In Region II finals, Broad Run hosts a soccer doubleheader with the Spartan girls facing Woodgrove at 6 followed by the Spartan boys taking on Tuscarora at 8. In softball, Briar Woods hosts Woodgrove at 6 in a title game.

In the Northwest Region, the Heritage girls soccer team is at Battlefield in the title game.

And the Broad Run baseball team hosts Kettle Run at 6 in a Region II semifinal game postponed  a day due to the Cougars graduation. If the Spartans win, they will host rival Potomac Falls Saturday at 6 in the finals and the Panthers will travel if Kettle Run prevails.
