Softball: Broad Run Grad Powell Becomes First Badger to Make 1st Team All-Big Ten Since 2002

(June 20, 2011) - Broad Run High School grad Karla Powell, returning nicely from shoulder surgery that ended her sophomore season, became the first University of Wisconsin softball player to make first team All-Big Ten since 2002.

Powell, limited in the field due to the injury, was selected as a Designated Player after leading the Badgers in home runs, doubles, slugging percentage and walks. More on her selection to the Big Ten team.
