Middleburg (June 6, 2011) - Noah Fenton has proven an outstanding addition to the Middleburg Academy Tennis Team. The 16-year old junior, along with his younger brother Adam, a freshman, are new to the high school this year and both went undefeated the entire season and were elected to the All-State Team.
Noah received additional recognition at the State level when recently named Player of the Year (Division II). Together with their teammates, the Fenton brothers helped capture this year’s Cavalier Athletic Conference (CAC) title, for the first time in the school’s history, and were runners up for the Virginia Independent Schools Division II State Title held in Richmond.
The Dragons entered the VISAA State Tournament seeded No. 5. They defeated the No. 4 seed, the Steward School 7-2, and then went on to defeat the No. 1 seed, Hampton Roads Academy 5-4. Their season ended at the Robbins Center in Richmond in the State Championship, losing in a tight 4-5 match against The Covenant School of Charlottesville. Sons of Cindy and Andrew Fenton of Middleburg, the Fenton brothers have been USTA junior competitors for the past five years. Noah is currently ranked No. 11 and Adam No. 6 in their respective age groups in the Mid Atlantic region. The Middleburg Academy tennis team has every hope of bringing home the state championship next season.
