Softball: Fire and Ice 18U Captures Junebug Jamboree Title

(June 7, 2011) - The Sterling-based Fire and Ice 18U softball team captured the Junebug Jamboree Championship over the weekend in Hagerstown MD. The team consists of members from area high schools - Loudoun Valley, Woodgrove, Battlefield, Park View, Loudoun County, South Lakes, Gar-Field, Briar Woods, Broad Run and Dominion High Schools, one home school student and one Gettysburg College player.


The team went 5-1 in the tournament scoring 43 runs and only gave up 13. With the championship Sunday, the team qualified for the Pony National Tournament in North Carolina.

The team is coached by Kevin Miller, John Bogan, Tony Sudler and Lance Palmer

The team will next travel to the ASA Virginia State Tournament in Virginia Beach June 11 & 12.

June 11-12 - ASA Virginia State Tournament - VA Beach VA
June 27-July 4 - Triple Crown Sparkler Tournament - Aroura CO
July 16-17 - ASA South Carolina Bandits Hot Times Showcase - Florence SC
July 23-24 - Carolina Cardinal Classic Showcase - Raleigh NC
Late July and early August - A national tournament depending on which we qualify for.
