Cheers Sports and VivaLoudoun Athletes of the Month for May 2011

Ashburn (June 16, 2011) - Cheers Sports and VivaLoudoun.com released today their Athletes of the Month selections for May 2011. The May 2011 honorees met at Lifetime Fitness in Ashburn on June 12 for a double photo shoot along with the June 2011 group which will be released on Sunday.

Each month VivaLoudoun editor Dan Sousa selects the top athletes from across Loudoun's public and private high schools for the Cheers Sports Athletes of the Month program. For May 2011, a total of just three to four athletes per each of the 10 spring sports (baseball/softball, boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls tennis, boys and girls track and field) were selected with the 38 athletes coming from 13 different high schools.

"Loudoun's success in the playoffs this spring made the decision of selecting these athletes very difficult," said Sousa.
