Field Hockey: Girls Invited to Thursday Night Drop-In Sessions at Foxcroft Starting July 14

(June 22, 2011) - “Thursday Nights Field Hockey,” a fun, drop-in opportunity for girls entering 7th grade and up to learn and play the game, will be offered at Foxcroft School weekly, beginning Thursday, July 14, Athletic Director Michelle Woodruff announced recently. All girls interested in playing field hockey, regardless of skill level, are welcome to come to once, twice or every week through Aug. 18.

Current and former college players from both Division I and Division III schools --including Foxcroft coach Jessi Coil, who played at Kent State, will be dropping in to assist and to play during the informal sessions, said Woodruff, who has coached field hockey for a decade and will supervise the evening activities.

Thursday Nights Field Hockey will be held from 6pm to 7:30 pm, every week through August 18 on the Middleburg, VA’s athletic fields. Players should bring a hockey stick, mouth guard and water. A $5 drop-in charge will be collected.
