The Skinny: Woodgrove is now 16-2 overall and 12-1 in district play. With the win, Woodgrove doubled their win total from the previous season. Sarah Hardison and Brooke Basinger led theWolverines with 11 points apiece. Bothplayers also added 4 boards and 2 steals. Kaitlyn Lorinchak had an outstandingall around game with 8 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Stephanie Purnell and Halle Lynch chipped inwith 7 points and 9 boards each. It was another true team victory as seven Wolverines scored in the game. Woodgrovewill be back in action on Friday hosting Tuscarora.

Girls Soccer: Stone Bridge to Hold Signing Ceremony for Ervins and Smith Feb. 8

(Jan. 31, 2012) - On Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m., the Stone Bridge High School girls soccer program will celebrate the signing of two of their stand-out players over the past four years, Imani Ervins and Melanie Smith.

Imani Ervins is starting her fourth season as a varsity field player for the Bulldogs. She will continue her education and athletic career next year at Winthrop College in South Carolina. In addition, Melanie Smith will be off to American University this Fall to further her education and soccer experience. Melanie is a returning varsity defender and was the junior captain last year.

Boys Lacrosse: Stone Bridge Goalie Southward to Hold Feb. 15 Signing Ceremony

(Jan. 31, 2012) - On Wednesday Feb. 15 at 4 p.m., the Stone Bridge High School boys lacrosse program will celebrate the signing of one of their stand-out players over the past four years. Jesse Southward, who has started at goalie for the Bulldogs since his freshman year and will continue his education and athletic career next year at Limestone College in South Carolina.

Southward owns all of the Stone Bridge goal tending records including Saves in a Game (20), Saves in a Season(153), and Saves in a Career(384). However, those numbers do not tell his entire story as his prowess outside the cage, toughness, and work ethic have helped lead the Bulldogs to several winning seasons in a row.

News: Park View Hall of Fame Committee Seeks Nominations

Girls Soccer: Briar Woods SR Ashley Carmean to Play at NCAA D1 Gardner-Webb University

(Jan. 31, 2012) - Briar Woods High School senior Ashley Carmean will play at NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb University next year.

Carmean is just one of six Falcons that will play next year in college: Sam Russell (James Madison), Megan Benitez (George Mason), Lina Granados (Vanderbilt), Caroline Magnotti (University of Tampa) and Alexis Jensen (Lynchburg College). Briar Woods will host a signing ceremony for the talented group on Feb. 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the school's library.

"It feels like just yesterday they were stepping onto the field at BWHS for the first time," wrote Briar Woods coach Ann Vierkorn. "They are certainly a talented and special group. It doesn't happen often that every senior goes on to play in college."

Gardner-Webb is a private, Christian, Baptist-related university located in Boiling Springs, N.C., 50 miles west of Charlotte. The women's soccer team plays in the Big South Conference.

Swim: Stone Bridge's Andi Mack Takes 1st in 200 Free, 2nd in 100 at Liberty District Meet

(Jan. 31, 2012) - Stone Bridge High School freshman swim sensation Andi Mack turned in a 1:54.58 to win the Liberty District meet 200 free over the weekend and she finished second in the 100 free with a 52.73. Both times are tops this year for Loudoun swimmers.

The Langley girls won the meet with 407 points followed by McLean (328) and Madison (310). Stone Bridge, without a diving team, finished last with 134. On the boys side, Madison took the title with 490 followed by Thomas Jefferson (373.5) and Marshall (302). Stone Bridge was last with 83 points. Read more on the overall meet here.

Football: Briar Woods SR Alex Carter to Play in International Bowl Wednesday in Texas

(Jan. 31, 2012) - Briar Woods High School senior and Stanford-bound Alex Carter has a good reason for missing the football college signing day Wednesday as the Virginia state player of the year will be in Austin, Texas representing the United States in the third annual International Bowl.

Carter, a defensive back, receiver and kick returner, will be playing for the U.S. Under-19 national team in the game that was formerly billed as Team USA vs. The World.

Soccer: Spring 2012 Recreation Registration Underway for Loudoun Soccer

(Jan. 30, 2012) - Early bird discount for on-time recreation registration for Loudoun Soccer is currently underway and runs through Monday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. The current registration fee is $115 per player ($105 registration fee plus a $10 Loudoun County Parks and Recreation Usage Fee). Registrations received after the Feb. 20 deadline will incur a $25 non-refundable late fee.

Swim: Potomac Falls Sweeps Boys, Girls Dulles District Meet

Potomac Falls Girls 4x100 Relay Bring Home the Title for the Panthers!

(Jan. 28, 2012) - The Potomac Falls High School boys and girls swim teams started and ended the 2012 Dulles District meet the same way -- touching the wall first in relays -- and in between the Panthers boys were overwhelming and the Panther girls fought off a brave challenge from Briar Woods as both claim district titles.

The Potomac Falls boys, winning all three relays, and picking up two first place finishes from freshman William Lin (200 IM, 500 free) and a first from Eoghan Foley (50 free), had too much depth for the field, nearly doubling second-place Briar Woods (245 points) with 433.5 total points. Loudoun County took third (238) followed by Tuscarora (232.5), Dominion (227.5), Woodgrove (210), Heritage (189), Loudoun Valley (154.5) and Park View (72).

The Potomac Falls girls also got two wins from a super freshman as Kiri Harvey took the 200 free and 100 back. The Panthers came into the final race of the night, the 400 free relay, just 0.5 points ahead of Briar Woods and Potomac Falls with Carson Newton, Lindsey Oteyza, Ariana Staffen and Harvey finished ahead of Briar Woods to take the team title, 349.5 to 343. Tuscarora was third (279) followed by Dominion (237), Loudoun County (196), Heritage (178), Woodgrove (178), Park View (146) and Loudoun Valley (59.5).

Wrestling: Heritage to Host 5th Annual Duals on Saturday

Leesburg (Jan. 27, 2012) - Heritage High School wrestling will host its 5th Annual Heritage Duals on Saturday with action starting at 9 a.m.

A total of 10 teams will take to the mats including Clarke County, Courtland, Edison, Handley, Heritage, Liberty, Loudoun County, Park View, Potomac and Yorktown. Admission is $5 with action wrapping up by 5 p.m.

Girls Basketball: Woodgrove Remains on Loudoun County's Heels

Purcellville (Jan. 27, 2012) - Lost in the shuffle of the big boys basketball game between Loudoun Valley and Woodgrove Wednesday night was that the Woodgrove girls team quietly opened the doubleheader by taking care of business against winless Valley, winning 68-26.

Woodgrove is now 11-1 in the Dulles District and 15-2 overall, just a game back in the loss column of Loudoun County (11-0, 12-5) with the two teams scheduled to end the regular season against each other in Purcellville on Feb. 10.

Boys Basketball: Loudoun Valley Snares Another Victim in Defensive Web as Vikes Improve to 11-1 in Dulles, 16-2 Overall with Win Before Packed House at Woodgrove

Purcellville (Jan. 26, 2012) - Playing the 2011-12 Loudoun Valley High School boys basketball team is like taking on the cast of the Spider-Man Broadway musical. In their tireless zone defense they seem to be soaring everywhere, spinning their defensive webs, only this group doesn't need wires to do their work, they just rely on height, wingspan and athleticism.

Putting a unit at times on the floor with four players 6-foot-3 or taller, and three 6-5 or taller, Loudoun Valley (11-1 Dulles District, 16-2 overall) nearly doubled Woodgrove in rebounding Wednesday and held rival Woodgrove (6-6, 9-9) to just two points in the final quarter and scoreless in the final six minutes-plus in a 50-37 win before a packed house of 1,600+ fans.

Boys Basketball: Briar Woods Survives Double OT Thriller at Potomac Falls, 77-75

Sterling (Jan. 26, 2012) - After three long basketball seasons and for the just the second time in school history the Briar Woods High School boys finally conquered Goliath ... aka back-to-back VHSL Division 4 state champion Potomac Falls ... but just barely as the Falcons escaped the Panther Pit Wednesday with a 77-75 double overtime victory.

“It feels really great,” Briar Woods head coach Mike Benson. “We’ve worked hard to get where we are. There are a lot of seniors and juniors who have been working with this program for years.”

The last time -- and only time in 16 all-time meetings -- that Briar Woods beat Potomac Falls was in the final regular season contest of the 2008-09 season. A young Panthers team finished that season with four straight losses but the program lost just three times over the next two years -- ending Briar Woods season in the playoffs each time -- as they brought home the first ever boys basketball state titles to Loudoun.

On Wednesday it was the more experienced Falcons (8-1 district, 12-2 overall) coming in as the slight favorite with just one district loss while Potomac Falls (8-3, 11-5) looked to move even with Briar Woods in the district loss column.

Basketball: Big Night for Dulles District as Top 4 Collide

(Jan. 25, 2012) - It is a huge night for Dulles District boys basketball as the top four teams collide with Loudoun Valley (10-1, 15-2) at Woodgrove (6-4, 9-7) and Briar Woods (7-1, 11-2) at Potomac Falls (8-2, 11-4).

A win by the Wolverines and Panthers at home could leave the 9-team district race in a 3-way tie for first in the loss column. The Valley vs. Woodgrove game is part of a huge Purcellville rivalry doubleheader that featured the Viking fans storming the court after their boys won in December.

Ice Hockey: Stick it to Sarcoma! Dominion and Velocity 5 to Hold Fundraiser to Support Head Coaches Wife

Sterling (Jan. 25, 2012) - The Dominion High School club ice hockey team and Velocity 5 restaurant at Great Falls Plaza are holding a fundraiser on Feb. 7 from 5 to 10 p.m. to support Sharon Heiden, wife of coach Brad Piver, and her fight to recover from sarcoma.

The "Stick it to Sarcoma" fundraiser will help the Heiden/Piver family with on-going medical bills with 10 percent of all purchases going to the family. Andrew Tufano of the hockey team will provide live music.

Heiden's son Austin is a sophomore on teh team, which is wearing special patches on their jerseys in honor of Heiden's heroic fight. She was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma last April and had two major surgeries at Boston's Mass General Hospital in the fall. Sharon Heiden is cancer-free today and undergoing intensive physical therapy.

Gymnastics: Loudoun County Wins Meet at Park View

(Jan. 25, 2012) - Loudoun County High School gymnastics finished first in a 4-team meet Wednesday at Park View, out-scoring its closest competitor by nearly 30 points, 133.30 to Potomac Falls' 103.650.

Host Park View 96.3 and Heritage 11.7 (with only one competitor) rounded out the meet.

Loudoun County's Victoria Miner took the All Around (35.25) and was first on the vault (8.9). Teammate Jessica Drews was first on both the beam (9.1) and floor (9.5). Potomac Falls' Abbey Tsao was first on the bars (8.55).

Gymnastics: Freedom Takes 5-Team Meet at Loudoun Valley

(Jan. 25, 2012) - Freedom High School once again showed its gymnastics depth as the Eagles took a 5-team meet at Loudoun Valley with only one Eagle competing in the All Around.

Freedom scored 134.85 points with Briar Woods second (126.55) followed by Tuscarora (123.65), Loudoun Valley (123.1) and Woodgrove (120.85). The Eagles are in the AAA Cedar Run District while the other four schools are in the AA Dulles District.

Woodgrove's Amanda Huebner took the All Around with a 35.75 that included a first on the floor (9.25) and bars (8.7). Freedom's Becca McCarthy was first on the vault (9.0) and Loudoun Valley's Josephine Trombadore was first on beam (9.4).

The outing for Briar Woods was a fourth consecutive meet in which the Falcons set a school record as a team for total socre. Freshman Brittany Gwinup and junior Alycia Knox both had career-high vaults and qualified for Regionals. Both girls also shined on floor, according to the coaching staff.

Also for Briar Woods, Darja Winkel and Marina Kiseleva both placed on two events and were 6th and 3rd in the all-around, respectively. Brooke Wivagg placed on beam. Briar Woods competes next at the "Battle of Ashburn" at Stone Bridge on Friday night at 6:30pm.

Dulles District will hold its regular season championships Thurs. Feb. 2 at Loudoun Valley. Cedar Run District will holds its regular season championships Wed. Feb. 1 at Patriot. Stone Bridge will host the Liberty District regular season championships Wed. Feb. 1.

Football: Dominion SR Kenny Sisson to Play at NCAA D2 New Program Alderson-Broaddus

Sterling (Jan. 25, 2012) - Dominion High School senior lineman Kenny Sisson will play football next year at the new Alderson-Broaddus College NCAA Division II program in Philippi, W.V.

Sisson is a 6-foot-3, 265-pound offensive center and defensive end who helped the Titans earn their first ever playoff bid in 2010. Sisson has put in a tremendous amount of work in the weight room where by his junior year he was benching 350+ and squatting nearly 600 pounds.

"I chose to commit to Alderson-Broaddus Division 2 program that is starting up next year in West Virginia because it is the best educational and athletic opportunity for me," said Sisson, who will look to study business management in school.

Wrestling: Freedom, Broad Run Both Go 7-1 at Cheers Sports Viking Duals

Purcellville (Jan. 24, 2012) - The Broad Run and Freedom wrestling teams both went 7-1 over the weekend at the Cheers Sports Viking Duals at Loudoun Valley High School.

The two Cedar Run District foes will collide Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the Honda Dulles Ashburn Duals, a Wrestle for the Cure event benefiting the Chris Cooley Foundation, at Broad Run High School.

Gymnastics: Freedom Captures Aloha Classic Navy Division

(Jan. 24, 2012) - Freedom High School captured the powerhouse Navy Division at the Aloha Classic Invitational at Patriot High School on Saturday with Arianna Robinson taking first in the All Around.

Freedom scored 109.175 to finish ahead of Stafford (107.45), Loudoun County (107.05), Colonial Forge (104.95), Osbourn Park (103.275) and North Stafford (102.225). Lake Braddock and Battlefield pulled out due to the weather. Scoring was based on the best 3 scores out of the teams 4 entries.

The AA Raiders strong showing among the AAA schools was highlighted by Victoria Miner's school-record 9.175 vault breaking the mark set by Katy Bauer (2007-08) and Jess Sheehan (2008-09) at 9.15.

Baseball: Park View SR Bobby Mason Commits to D2 Chowan University

Sterling (Jan. 24, 2012) - Park View High School senior pitcher Bobby Mason has commited to play baseball at Division II Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC. Last year the Hawks won the CIAA and advanced to the regionals. Mason has been a 3-year varsity starter for the Patriots and was named a first team All-Dulles District utility player after his sophomore year. He threw the fourth no-hitter in school history last year.

During his 2011 summer and fall season with the Virginia Renegades, Mason had 20 mound appearances compiling a 4-3 record against some of the best teams from the Mid Atlantic area. He pitched 52 innings with a 2.33 ERA with 59 strike outs.

Mason was also very good at the plate with a .340 AVG over 43 games with 103 at bats. Renegades coach Joe Beaulac had this to say when he heard Bobby had committed: ”As a member of the Renegades, he was the leader of the pitching staff and took the ball against the top competition. With his continued development, he is projected to be among the top pitchers in the Dulles District in the Spring when he takes the mound for coach Mickey Leap’s Park View HS Patriots.”

(Jan. 23, 2012) - The creative types at OTB Productions have done another video and it features the Briar Woods High School boys basketball team. The Falcons at 7-1 are tied with Loudoun Valley in the loss column for the Dulles District lead with the Vikes at 10-1.

Briar Woods, with games pushed back due to the football team's run to another Division 4 state title, plays six games in 10 days starting Wednesday. That stretch includes Potomac Falls (Jan. 25), Woodgrove (Jan. 26), Park View (Jan. 28), Loudoun Valley (Jan. 31), Broad Run (Feb. 1) and Loudoun County (Feb. 3).

Basketball: Registration Process for 2012-13 for 2 Ridges Basketball League House, Travel and High School Players

(Jan. 23, 2012) - The Two Ridges Basketball League registration Process will be changing for next winter's 2012-13 season. The league will be offering an "Early Bird Special" starting March 1 and ending March 14th.

Registration cost will increase going into next year, so for those that take advantage of this "Early Bird" opportunity, the registration fee for the 2012-2013 season will be $150 per player with applicable "family" discount" if all players in the household are registered at the same time. For those that choose to wait until our normal August Registration period (August 1-August 10), the cost will be $200 for those players and will be a first come first serve; provided their is space in the age group available. There are no garauntees that any spots will be available in August.

News: Park View Names Winter Sportsmanship Winners

(Jan. 20, 2012) - Park View High School named its Winter 2011-12 Sportsmanship Award winners and honored them before the boys basketball game on Jan. 13 with the girls basketball winners to be honored before their game on Jan. 25.

Field Hockey: Registration Opens for Potomac Field Hockey Spring League, Coaches and Umpires Also Needed

(Jan. 20, 2012) - Registration is now open for Potomac Field Hockey's spring youth league for ages 8-18 as well as for the game-only 19+ league

Girls Basketball: Loudoun Freedom to Hold Spring AAU Tryouts for 3rd thru 19th Grades

(Jan. 20, 2012) - The Loudoun Freedom basketball organization will hold tryouts seeking players for spring AAU GIRLS' teams in the 3rd thru 10th grades on Feb. 19 (at Harper Park MS) and Feb. 25 (Loudoun Country Day School) and Feb. 26 (Harper Park).

The Feb. 26 tryout is for 9th and 10th grade only. The Feb. 19 tryout is for all age groups while the Feb. 25 is for 3rd thru 8th grade. Football: Heritage WR Marcus Finney Senior Season Highlights

(Jan. 20, 2012) - Heritage High School senior wide receiver Marcus Finney finished his great Pride career with a final season that included 60 receptions for 1,090 yards and he scored 15 touchdowns. Also a dangerous kick returner and a defensive end who rung up seven sacks. Finney is a big reason that Heritage made its first ever postseason appearance and will surely continue improving his game at the college level.

Soccer: Briar Woods Senior Lina Granados Makes Colombian U-20 Women's Squad, Heads to Brazil for South American Championships

(Jan. 18, 2012) - Briar Woods High School senior Lina Granados has already been out of the country for 40 days but the talented soccer player earned an even longer international stay as she made the Colombian U-20 women's squad and departed for Brazil and the South American Championships on Wednesday.

"Our our way to the airport. Here is the beginning of our journey. We've worked so hard for this," Granados tweeted late Wednesday night.

The 17-year-old Vanderbilt recruit, who was born in Colombia, worked out with the U-20 Colombian women in May 2010 but did not make the cut. This time around she is one of 20 athletes selected to represent Colombia in a tournament which will determine two teams that will move on to the U-20 World Cup which was originally scheduled for Uzbekistan, but appears likely to end up being hosted by Japan.

Boys Lacrosse: Stone Bridge Goalie Jesse Southward Commits to Play at Limestone College

(Jan. 18, 2012) - Stone Bridge High School senior goalie Jesse Southward has verbally committed to play men's lacrosse next year at NCAA Division II Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.

Limestone is a Christian non-denominational liberal arts school with 3,500 students that was first established in 1845 as a women's college and became coeducational in the late 1960s. The Saints men's lacrosse team went a record-tying 15-2 last year and qualified for the NCAA tournament for a record 12th straight year.

Southward was a Cheers Sports Athlete of the Month in 2011 and was named Liberty District first team at goalie. He posted a season-high 20 saves against Chantilly and had 16 saves in a 8-6 win over Westfield and 16 saves in a 8-6 loss to Madison in the Liberty District semifinals. He finished his junior campaign with 155 saves in 15 matches.

Boys Basketball: Woodgrove's High-Scoring Senior Brad Gilson Commits to Play at Ivy League's Columbia

(Jan. 18, 2012) - Woodgrove High School high-scoring senior Brad Gilson -- who scored so many points (54!) in a game Jan. 4 at Park View that they had to go to the videotape to confirm the all-time points night for a Loudoun high school player -- has committed to play next year at Ivy League's Columbia University in New York City.

"Columbia was my top choice. Coach (Kyle) Smith and his staff really recruited me hard for over a year," said Gilson, who averages 30.7 points per game, currently No. 1 in the Washington Post's metro area scoring charts.

Continued Gilson: "Ivy League academics were also important to me. Also, the vibe at Columbia and NYC is great. Their alums and students are really supportive and they sell out their conference games."

Football: Woodgrove Coach Jerry Gordon Steps Down

Purcellville (Jan. 17, 2012) - Jerry Gordon, Woodgrove’s first football coach, has resigned as of today according to Wolverine athletic director Rusty Lowery.

Gordon leaves with a 6-14 overall record at the school which opened in 2010.

Highlights of his tenure include, the school’s first win on Sept. 24, 2010, overtime 17-14 victory vs. East Rockingham County and a dramatic last minute 24-21 win against crosstown rival, Loudoun Valley, this past Nov. 4.

Gordon leaves Woodgrove with 22 years of high school and college coaching experience and one year of professional coaching experience.

Lowery said in a release: "Woodgrove thanks Coach Gordon for his hard work and dedication to the students, community and school. Woodgrove wishes Coach Gordon the best of luck with his future endeavors."

During the transition period, the off-season Woodgrove BFS will be operating as scheduled after school on Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

Football: Briar Woods JR Matt Rolin Gets Offer from Virginia and SR Alex Carter Named Parade All-American

(Jan. 17, 2012) - Back-to-back VHSL Division 4 state champion Briar Woods High School continues to have a big football off-season with junior linebacker Matt Rolin picking up an offer Tuesday from the University of Virginia and senior defensive back/wide receiver Alex Carter named as a Parade All-American.

It was just the latest honor for the Stanford-bound Carter who played earlier this month in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl all-start game in Texas and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Virginia.

For Rolin, the UVa offer came on the heels of an offer from Virginia Tech and he has three other offers already from Boston College, Washington and Tennessee.

Golf: Middleburg Academy's Maclain Huge Just Falls Short at Puerto Rico Junior Open

(Jan. 17, 2012) - Middleburg Academy senior Maclain Huge just fell short in his title bid at the Puerto Rico Junior Open as he finished fifth with an even par total of 216, four shots back of winner Edward Figueroa of Naples, Fla.

Boys Basketball: Future Bright for Tuscarora with Young Backcourt

(Jan. 17, 2012) - While the Tuscarora High School boys basketball team has gotten off to a slow start in its young history, especially compared to Loudoun's other second-year school Woodgrove which made the playoffs last year behind the play of high-scoring Brad Gilson, the Huskies are building a foundation and are improving each week.

While Tuscarora is just 1-12 after going 0-22 last year, they are playing teams close, falling to Park View, 93-82; Dominion, 63-58; Patriot, 63-59; and Briar Woods, 71-59. And the Huskies are young, young, young with sophomore guard Josh Middleton leading the team with 11.8 points per game and 14-year-old freshman shooting guard, A.J. Robinson, scoring 11.5. Another freshman, Trey Johnson, is a point guard and averages 9.2.

Forwards, junior Justin Aird and sophomore John  Boris, round out the top five in scoring average for the young team which for most of the season has had no player averaging more than 12 points a game but has 11 players averaging at least three points a game including: junior Steve Welti, senior Devin Green, junior Marcus Momon, sophomore Spencer Hayes, junior Sury Avasarala, and junior Louis Werts. The 14-man Husky rosters includes just three seniors and six sophomores and freshman.

Here are highlights of Robinson's 22-point, 7-assist performance against Heritage.


Johnson is part of a unique situation where he and his brother, senior Myles Johnson, are BOTH starting point guards -- with Myles a senior at Stone Bridge where he leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 12.2 points per game.

While the brothers from Lansdowne dreamed of playing together for a year in high school, the new boundaries created when Tuscarora opened, left them at different schools this year. Myles scored a season-high 27 points against Park View and has 29 3-pointers on the year, while Trey put up 21 against Dominion. The two will not face each other as Tuscarora and Stone Bridge aren't scheduled to play this year.

Gymnastics: APEX Captures Team Titles

(Jan. 17, 2012) - The APEX girl's gymnastics teams captured two first place team titles at level 5 and 7 this past weekend at the Arlington Aerials Invitiational. In addition, the level 8/9 team finished second, the level 6 team finished third and the level 4 team finished 5th.

APEX gymnasts won over 30 gold medals and special congratulations go out to the following gymnasts for qualifying to their respective sectional or state meets: Caroline Lessler, Madeline Sicking, Madison Chandler, Lindsey Sestak, McKenna Magoffin, Abby Keane, Brooke Constantine, Courtney Walker, Cassidy Gagnon and Abby Reid. Basketball: Registration for Jeff Hawes Old School Camp for Rising 5th to 12th Grade Boys

(Jan. 17, 2012) - Registration is now open for the Jeff Hawes Old School Basketball Camp for rising 5th-12th grade Boys. The camp will be held from June 13 to 16 at the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Va.

The overnight camp cost is a competitively-priced $365 for 4 days/3 nights. Price for the camp will rise to $390 after Jan. 31.

Join two-time defending state champion Potomac Falls Head Coach Jeff Hawes and an outstanding staff including several local high school Coaches including Kip Shallis, Brandon Jackson, Darien Almond (Potomac Falls), Kevin Weeren (Loudoun Valley), Bill Maher (Heritage), as well as others.

The camp is loaded daily with 12-14 hours of basketball including defensive fundamentals, offensive fundamentals, special situations, shooting contests, 5 on 5 and 3 on 3 League play, and a 1 on 1 Tournament as well as many other fun and competitive situations.

News: Will Power and Special Forces Unlimted to Host Iron Will High School Combine

(Jan. 16, 2012) - Will Power and Special Forces Unlimited are hosting the Iron Will High School Superstars competition on Feb. 18 with proceeds to benefit the family of Tony DiGiovanna.

(Jan. 16, 2012) - Jorge Garcia of Miami notched six birdies in his final 10 holes en route to a second-round 68 and a 2-under-par total, giving him a share of the lead heading into the final round at the Puerto Rico Junior Open. Dylan Healey of Franklin, Tenn., and Middleburg Academy's Maclain Huge of Lovettsville, Va., each carded even-par rounds of 72 Sunday and will play with Garcia in the final grouping Monday at Trump International Golf Club's Championship Course.
