Special to VivaLoudoun
(Jan. 3, 2012) - The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has set its meeting schedule for 2012 and has elected Blue Ridge District Supervisor Janet Clarke as Vice Chairman. In the absence of Chairman Scott K. York, Clarke will perform the duties of the Chairman.
Under the Board’s adopted rules of order (www.loudoun.gov/2012rulesoforder), beginning in February 2012, the Board will hold its regular business meetings on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning at 9:00 a.m., and on the Tuesday of the third week of the month at 5:00 p.m., as needed. The Board will hold a monthly public input/general business meeting at 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday previous to the Wednesday business meeting, with public input to start as early as 6:00 p.m. The public input session is intended for citizens to make comments to the Board on any topic they choose. It is the Board’s intention to also allow a period for public comment during the Board’s second regular business meeting of the month.
The Board’s monthly public hearing will be held on the Tuesday following the first business meeting, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The January 2012 public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
