Golf: Middleburg Academy's Maclain Huge Just Falls Short at Puerto Rico Junior Open

(Jan. 17, 2012) - Middleburg Academy senior Maclain Huge just fell short in his title bid at the Puerto Rico Junior Open as he finished fifth with an even par total of 216, four shots back of winner Edward Figueroa of Naples, Fla.


Huge, bound for Virginia Tech, trains with Elite Performance Golf Academy's Director of Instruction Adam Harrell at Westpark GC in Leesburg. Said Harrell: "Playing in his first tournament since just before Halloween, Huge, demonstrated the poise and dedication needed to compete against kids who have access year round outdoor training."

Last year Huge finished with a three day total of 224 in 14th place.
