(Jan. 12, 2012) - Loudoun County public high school administrators and coaches are expected to show tonight to support athletics at a Loudoun County Public Schools public budget hearing which starts at 6:30 p.m. at the school admin building in Ashburn.
The proposed budget for 2013 eliminates the $100 athletic fee per athlete per sport and it also proposes a 3 percent salary increase for all staff along with a 3 percent increase in coaching stipends.
One local coach: "Needless to say, if the proposed budget needs to be reduced, athletic fees and coaching stipend increases could be affected. With a new School Board reviewing the budget, it is important that we show support for these items."
