(Jan. 12, 2012) - The Briar Woods High School club equestrian team, Loudoun's first such public high school to have a team, placed a solid ninth out of 15 teams in their first ever show, the Pickwick-Clay Hill show held over the weekend in Maryland.
The Falcons finish is impressive considering many of the teams they faced have been together and competing since September.
Lindsay Dennis earned a 1st and 6th in Junior Varsity Novice, bringing home the first blue ribbon in team history. Sydney Wayne and Kelli Burns also brought home ribbons in Junior Varsity Beginner, receiving 4th and 5th in their very full classes.
The Varsity girls also did well, with Emily Murphy bringing home a 3rd in Varsity Intermediate and Kayla Shroyer a 4th in Varsity Open.
