News: Grand Opening of New Indoor Athletic Facility nZone Set for Jan. 14

Special to VivaLoudoun
Chantilly (Jan. 6, 2012) - The nZone, the area's newest family-friendly recreation and community center, is hosting a free event January, 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the official facility grand opening.

Athletes, adults, youth and families are invited to experience the nZone and discover for themselves why it's a great place to get fit, have fun and make friends. Every adult attending the event will receive a one-month free membership to the nZone fitness center.

National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Soccer (MLS) celebrities will greet guests and free clinics; demonstrations; open play on the turf fields and basketball courts; free food; games; crafts; moon bounces; and musical performances by local high school choirs will be offered throughout the day along with free giveaways and prize drawings for an iPad, a Kindle Fire and tickets to Redskins, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards, and D.C. United games.

"After conducting an extensive community needs survey, teachers, parents, politicians, and people on the street all told us that western Fairfax and surrounding areas needed more places where kids and adults can hang out, have fun, and make friends," says Brett Andrews, founder and lead minister of New Life Christian Church. The nZone is an outreach of New Life Christian Church. "This open house is designed to give our neighbors a chance to experience a new recreational facility designed specifically as a result of their expressed desires."

The 84,000 square foot building provides three indoor turf fields; two basketball courts; a multi-purpose room for birthday parties, workshops, business meetings or classes; an athlete performance training area; and a state-of-the-art fitness center with care for kids. And, on Sunday mornings, New Life Christian Church transforms the recreation center into a contemporary, state-of-the-art space for people to have a fresh experience of God.

"Why would a church do something like this? We get that question a lot," Andrews says, "and the answer is this: we exist to serve others. So, we invested in a building that would serve our community's needs and be busy seven days a week. So, at the nZone, you'll find everything you would expect at a recreation and sports facility - soccer, lacrosse, basketball and volleyball league play, fitness classes and boot camps, Karate, sports clinics, dance classes, athlete training - but you'll also find tutoring sessions for students, support for struggling marriages and a safe place for youth to hang out after school."

BOOM! The grand opening of the nZone is January 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 14550 Lee Road, Chantilly, VA 20151. Take a virtual tour, learn more about fitness memberships or get more details about the event at www.thenzone.com or call 703-266-0118.
