Soccer: Loudoun Boys 98 Red Advances to Region I Finals, One Win Away from US Youth Soccer National Championships

(July 1, 2013) - The Loudoun 98 Boys Red soccer team is one win away from earning at rip to the US Youth Soccer National Championships later this month in Overland Park, Kan. after advancing to the finals of the Region I Championships.

Loudoun knocked off the FC Somers Razors from New York, 2-1, in Monday's semifinals and will play Penn Fusion SA 98 in the finals Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Along the way at the tournament at the University of Rhode Island, the Loudoun team has picked up four wins in four days including coming back from down 2-0 to beat defending regional champion Bethesda SC Blue PL, 5-2, in pool play.

Soccer: Loudoun Soccer College Showcase Features Top Teams from Mid-Atlantic Region this Weekend

(March 2, 2013) - The second annual Loudoun Soccer College Showcase this weekend features some of the top teams from the Mid-Atlantic Region with play in from U15 to U19.

Games today are being held at Loudoun Soccer Park in Leesburg and at Word of Grace (Old Redskins Park) in Herndon. On Sunday play continues at those two sites plus the turf fields at Tuscarora and Woodgrove high schools. Check out the tournament website here.

Teams playing are from Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia. And more than 60 men and women college soccer coaches are registered to attend the weekend.

Soccer: Loudoun Soccer Set to Host Largest-Ever Tryouts for 2012-13 Travel Program

(May 21, 2012) - Loudoun Soccer will host more than 1,000 athletes ranging from age 8 to 18 at its annual tryouts for its travel soccer program next month, the latest sign of the advances in quality and competitiveness which have made Loudoun one of the fastest-growing youth soccer clubs in the Mid-Atlantic region.

"Currently we have 66 travel teams in the club, and we're expecting that's going to expand up to about 75 in the fall season, which we're excited about," said Mark Ryan, Loudoun's Director of Travel. "In the younger age groups, we have four travel teams in each age group, which is an unprecedented number for us, and really, for any club in the region."

Soccer: Spring 2012 Recreation Registration Underway for Loudoun Soccer

(Jan. 30, 2012) - Early bird discount for on-time recreation registration for Loudoun Soccer is currently underway and runs through Monday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. The current registration fee is $115 per player ($105 registration fee plus a $10 Loudoun County Parks and Recreation Usage Fee). Registrations received after the Feb. 20 deadline will incur a $25 non-refundable late fee.

Youth Sports - Loudoun Soccer Names Mark Ryan Director of Coaching for Travel

(April 11, 2011) - Loudoun Soccer Technical Director Darryl Gee announced Monday that Mark Ryan has been appointed as the Director of Coaching ‐ Travel.

Ryan, most recently the Director of Coaching for Great Falls Soccer, will report directly to Gee. Over the last few weeks, Ryan has been volunteering his time to support Loudoun Soccer for the coordination of the TTA and Travel program.  

Gee said in a release: "He has been a terrific addition to our team and continues to impress me with his work ethic and his technical knowledge as prescribed by the USSF. He also has an extensive network of coaches which will be invaluable as we strive to increase the depth of our coaching staff."

Ryan has experience as both a player and a coach and brings a wealth of technical experience including:
• Certified USSF “B” license and USSF National Youth License.
• Head coach of VYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP) for the Northern Region.
• Assistant Coach with George Mason University (GMU) (NCAA Div 1 Men’s Program).  
• Played for GMU and was the captain for 3 years.
• Youth professional player for Manchester United.
• He holds a B.A. in Communications and an M.A. in Sports Marketing, both from GMU.

Youth Sports - Loudoun Soccer to Pull Top Teams from NCSL and WAGS, Joins Virginia Club Champions League

(Apr. 1, 2011) - Loudoun Soccer, Virginia’s largest soccer program with over 15,000 registrations annually, announced today that it will pull its top travel clubs after the current spring season from the National Capital Soccer League and Washington Area Girls Soccer League in favor of a newly-created northern division of the state-wide Virginia Club Champions League (VCCL).

Loudoun Soccer will be joined by seven other Northern Virginia clubs in breaking away from the NCSL and WAGS at the top tier of play, including Annandale, Arlington, Braddock Road, Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association, Great Falls, Southwestern and Prince William Soccer Inc.

The VCCL is an elite league that was formed in 1997 and previously served the areas in central and southern Virginia. It currently consists of eight elite clubs: Beach FC, FC Richmond, Richmond Strikers, Richmond Kickers, Roanoke Star, SOCA, Virginia Legacy, and Virginia Rush.

Youth Sports - Loudoun Soccer is Holding Spring Registration

(Jan. 18, 2011) - Loudoun Soccer is holding "early bird" registration for the spring season, with
registration for Mini Soccer, Recreation (U6-U12) and SFL (U13-U19) at $115 per player. A $25 fee will be added to registrations after Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.

The same deadline applies for the Challenge Program (U8-U12). No players may register for this program after Feb. 24. Register online.

Youth Sports - Girls Soccer - Loudoun 2000 Girls Shut Out Opponents to Win Elite Columbia Invitational

(June 2, 2010) – In the final tournament of their inaugural year, Loudoun Soccer’s 2000 Girls Red team shut out their opponents in every game to win the championship trophy at the elite Columbia Invitational, held outside of Baltimore in Columbia, Maryland from May 29-May 31. The team shut out their opponents during all four games of the tournament, finishing with a resounding 2-0 victory in the championship game against the talented Bethesda Academy Green team.
