Soccer: Loudoun Soccer Park with 2 Full-Sized Turf Fields to Officially Open Sept 15 in Leesburg

(Sept. 12, 2012) - Loudoun Soccer announced today that their new facility Loudoun Soccer Park, with two full-sized lighted turf fields, will be ready for play this weekend. Loudoun Soccer Park is located next to the Bolen Park fields in Leesburg. Here is the letter released by Loudoun Soccer:

Members of the Loudoun Soccer Community,

 

The Board of Directors and staff of Loudoun Soccer are very pleased to announce the opening of Loudoun Soccer Park. The facility’s two full-sized FieldTurf soccer fields will be open for play on September 15, 2012. The Park is located at 19798 Sycolin Road in Leesburg, immediately south of Bolen Park and the Leesburg Park and Ride lot. This milestone represents the culmination of several years of dedicated effort by Loudoun Soccer’s professional staff, volunteers, and community partners.

 

The development of Loudoun Soccer Park is a momentous occasion for Loudoun Soccer, providing the club with a permanent home that rivals the best soccer-specific facilities in the region. The Park will enable us to expand our training programs, host a broad range of tournaments and recreational matches, and offer adult soccer programs for the first time. It will enhance Loudoun Soccer’s reputation as one of the state’s leading clubs, and enable us to deliver more fully on our mission to maximize our players’ potential as athletes and people. Loudoun Soccer entered into a lease to own agreement with our developer partners and anticipates working closely with our membership to develop a strategic plan that leads to the Club’s eventual ownership of the property.

 

The opening of the soccer facilities signals the completion of the first of several stages of development for Loudoun Soccer Park. In collaboration with Loudoun Soccer’s professional training staff, the Board focused initial construction efforts on ensuring the availability of high-quality practice and game facilities. As your families have an opportunity to play on the Park’s fields this Fall, you’ll notice ongoing construction activity, as our contractor partners complete concessions and storage facilities, finalize pathways and fencing, grade and develop a Bermuda grass 85’x65’ field complex, install landscaping, and renovate the property’s existing structure, which will serve as Loudoun Soccer’s permanent headquarters. We recognize the Park is not fully completed, but felt it important to allow our teams to begin to use the state of the art field complex as soon as possible. As the saying goes, please pardon our dust.
