Sept. 11 Girls Volleyball Schedule
Briar Woods at Park View, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Park View (0-4 in district) is improving but still seeking first Dulles District win since 2010 season. Briar Woods (2-2) looks to end 2-game slide.

Dominion at Champe, 7:15 p.m.
The Skinny: First year Champe (1-3 in district) wants to continue success against Sterling schools after earlier win over Park View. Dominion (0-4) looks to end winless start.

Woodgrove at Heritage, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Heritage (3-1) is one of four teams tied for second in Dulles District. Woodgrove (1-3) took a set off Valley on Thursday but fell, 3-1.

Loudoun County at Tuscarora, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Battle for the 'Burg as frontrunner Loudoun County (4-0) takes on Leesburg rapidly improving neighbor Tuscarora (3-1).

Potomac Falls at Loudoun Valley, 7 p.m.
The Skinny: Some think Potomac Falls (3-1) is the most likely team to contend with Loudoun County this season ... first Panthers must prove it against Loudoun Valley (3-1).

Stone Bridge at Herndon, 7:15 p.m.
The Skinny: Stone Bridge (4-0) has been just about perfect this season. Herndon (3-5) fell last week in five sets to South Lakes.

Mon. Sept. 10
Potomac Falls def. Langley, 3-2 (25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-10)
The Skinny: Potomac Falls rallies for yet another big win as Kayla Carlton led the way with 16 kills, 21 digs, 3 aces, five service points and one block. Also for Pfalls, Eileen Fauteux had a big all around match with  8 kills, 25 assists, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 6 service points and 38 digs.

Patricia Mook had a hot serving night with 8 aces and 14 service points to go with 5 kills, 18 digs and 3 blocks. Freshmen Jasmine Ellison and Holly Carlton stepped up their game with Ellison grabbing 10 kills, 7 digs and 2 assists and Carlton with 7 aces, 17 service points, 2 assists and 13 digs.

More for PFalls: Makaely Thomas (7 kills, 1 assist, 4 aces, 9 service points, 11 digs), Olivia Camera (9 digs), Melanie Gonzalez (3 digs, 2 service points) and Hailey Bahr (1 assist, 2 digs).

Broad Run def. Oakton, 3-0 (25-20, 25-9, 25-15)
The Skinny: Spartans continue success against non-Loudoun teams.

Heritage def. Dominion, 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-16)
The Skinny: Highlights for Heritage: Busa- 12 kills, 2 blocks, 18 digs, 10 points; Crammer- 7 points, 18 assists; Emerald- 2kills; Fowler- 9 kills, 4 digs, 13 points; Montanez- 4 kills, 1 block, 5 digs, 4 points; Scneider- 1 kill, 1 block, 6 points; and Textoris- 5 digs.

Freedom def. Kettle Run, 3-2

The Skinny: The Lady Raiders were led by Mandy Powers (20 service points, 7 aces, 13 assists), Taylor Huewe (9 kills), Jane Feddersen (6 kills, 12 service points, 2 aces, 1 dig), Maggie Phillips (5 kills), Taylor Borup (3 kills, 4 service points, 2 aces, 1 block), Rachel Roberts (3 kills, 2 blocks), Kirsten Covell (2 kills, 1 assist), Hannah Vandegrift (12 assists, 9 service points), Kelsey Anderson (7 digs, 5 service points, 3 aces), Emily Solis (5 service points, 3 aces, 2 digs, 1 kill), Kelsey Slack (5 digs), Nicole Orndorff (1 kill, 1 dig), Quinn O'Connell (1 kill). 

The JV Raiders fought off a pesky Knights' team to remain undefeated with a sweep 25-12, 25-17. The Freshmen Raiders continued their strong play to a sweep over John Champe 25-14, 25-2. Leading the Raiders to victory were Allie Sarver (5 aces), Logan Roberstad (4 kills) and Alyssa Paige (4 kills).
