(June 22, 2011) - Loudoun’s YouthFest 2011 will be June 25th at the Brambleton Town Center, 42385 Ryan Road, Brambleton, VA 20148 from 3-8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the gate. This year’s headline performer is The Maine, a popular rock band whose last album Black and White won many awards and critical acclaim.
The Maine will take the stage at 7pm. Their performance will be followed by a fireworks show presented by the Brambleton community.
All the finalists from the YouthFest series of Battles of the Bands will perform on the main stage throughout the afternoon from 3 to 7pm. Battle winner Lightspeed Rescue will open for The Maine. Other bands and performers are Stone Collective, Disengage, Alright Like This, Nocturnal Rush, Halcyon, School of Rock, Just Another Scene, Pulse, Catie Lee, KyleRoc, Emma King and Andrew Tufano.
Attractions will be open from 3-7pm. They include the all new Boot Camp Challenge, an inflatable obstacle course which features a swing over water, a laser maze and more. Among other attractions this year are a rock wall, speed pitch and the gladiator joust. YouthFest attractions are included in the $5 admission.
Non-profit organizations and programs for youth will have displays and interactive exhibits throughout the afternoon. New to YouthFest this year is the teen vendor area where teens will sell crafts including jewelry and henna tattoos. There is also a new demonstration area. Creative Dance will perform in the demo area from 3-3:40pm. Other demonstrations will include fitness and theater. Food will be available to purchase.
There will be a drop off loop near the site. It is easily accessible from NorthStar Blvd and Soave Dr. Free parking is available in the Brambleton Town Center parking garage.
YouthFest is sponsored by Brambleton, Miller and Smith, WINC-FM 92.5, Loudoun Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Loudoun County Public Schools, Youth Advisory Council, Studio Rock of Northern Virginia and Loudoun Youth Inc..
