Swim: A/AA State Meet Set for this Weekend at ODU, 77 Swimmers from Loudoun Shoot for State Titles

(Feb. 16, 2010) - They may have missed a chance to win district or regional titles because of the snow but 77 Loudoun swimmers will have a shot at VHSL state titles this weekend at ODU in Norfolk at the VHSL A/AA state swim meet.

Briar Woods High School, Dominion High School and Freedom High School are all sending 14 athletes while Potomac Falls has qualified 13, Broad Run 12 and Loudoun County 10.

Briar Woods is well represented with 21 entries in the meet compared with 14 each by Broad Run and Freedom and 13 by Potomac Falls.

Broad Run's Mark Sarman is seeded second in the 100 fly with a 52.21 qualifying time and Briar Woods' Alli Haufler is also second in the 100 fly with a 58.49. The Broad Run boys 200 free relay team is seeded second as well with a 1:32.07 mark.
