(Mon. 15, 2010) - The finals for the Region II meet didn't start Sunday until just before midnight and things didn't wrap up at James Wood High School until 2 a.m. as the meet was turned into a one-day affair due to the weather.
Unlike other districts that were able to get mat time in, the Dulles District wrestlers showed up Sunday not having been on the mats since the district meet on Feb. 4 as the Loudoun schools have been closed since then and it showed a bit as just three Loudoun wrestlers advanced to the finals and nobody was crowned champ in the wee hours in Winchester.
Regional runner-ups included Freedom's Choung Le (119) and Thomas Philbrick (135) and Potomac Falls' Aaron Rowane (160).
Freedom as a team spent most of the day in the top five. Fauquier was running away with the meet with half of its squad advancing to the finals.

ReplyDeleteRegion II meet organizers haven't sent them out yet! Maybe they left me off the list! I've asked several coaches to forward them ... hopefully that works!
