Wrestling: Dulles District Sends Six Wrestlers to Tonight's AA State Quarterfinals

Salem (Feb. 19, 2010) - The Dulles District got off to a good start Friday at the VHSL state wrestling meet with six athletes winning their opening matches, including three Freedom High School wrestlers, to advance to this evening's quarterfinals at the Salem Civic Center.

Advancing from Freedom were Chuoung Le at 119 via pin at 3:35, Thomas Philbrick at 135 with a 5-3 decision and Joseph Sheptock at 145 with a fall at 4:36. Potomac Falls advanced two wrestlers with Mike Oswald winning by fall at 1:36 at 140 and Aaron Rowane at 160 with a 12-8 victory.

The other area wrestler to advance was Broad Run's Vince DiRenzo at 135 with a major 11-1 decision.

Six wrestlers moved into consolations after falling in their opening match: Nick Rea (PF) at 112, Tyler Anthony (LC) at 119, Batchka Zulhkuu (PF) at 130, Kenton Perez (LC) at 152, Charles Constantino (Free) at 171 and Zack Duffin (PF) at 215.
