Ashburn (Feb. 25, 2010) - Broad Run High School girls soccer coach Claire Collins, who led the Spartans last spring to a second straight VHSL AA state title, picked up a national Coach of the Year honor last month at the National Soccer Coaches Association of American 2010 convention in Philadelphia.Collins was named the NSCAA High School Schools Girls Division II Coach of the Year. Under Collins’ direction, Broad Run went 23-0-1 last spring for its second consecutive undefeated season and became the first girls team to repeat as state AA champions. Her team has a 47-0-1 record the last two years and in the past three years recorded 50 shutouts while outscoring their opponents 308-32. Collins also was National Coach of the Year in 2004
