(Feb. 17, 2010) - Heritage High School junior Damon Rosenburg captured the 100-yard breast with a 1:02.11 time at the AAA Northwest Region swim championships Monday at Radford University. Rosenburg was just one of several Heritage and Loudoun Valley swimmers qualifying for this weekend's AAA state meet at the Bayside Recreation Center in Virginia Beach.
Rosenburg's Heritage teammate Geoffrey Wright finished third in the 100 free (49.91) and sixth in the 50 free (22.96).
The Loudoun Valley boys 200 free relay team took third with a 1:33.34 while the Pride were fifth at 1:34.45. Valley's Christian Reinerstson was sixth in the 100 fly with a 56.31.
On the girls side, Rosenburg's freshman sister, Kaleigh was third in the 200 IM (2:12.70) and fifth in the 100 breast (1:07.95). The Pride were sixth in the 200 medley relay at 1:56.18.
Valley's Kelsey Ryan was second in the 100 back with a 1:01.11 and she took sixth in the 100 fly (1:00.24).
Osbourn Park won the girls team title with 300 points followed by North Stafford (217.5) and Osbourn (201). Heritage was 10th at 100 and Valley 15th at 50.
Albemarle won the boys team title with 273.5 points followed by Osbourn Park (261.5) and Battlefield (233). Heritage placed 9th with 116 and Valley 14th at 68.
