Boys Basketball: Broad Run JR Nigel Johnson Nets American University Offer After Dropping 55 Points in OT Loss at Osbourn

(Feb. 8, 2012) - Broad Run High School junior guard Nigel Johnson picked up his second basketball scholarship offer on Wednesday night following his career high 55-point scoring performance in a 109-105 overtime Cedar Run District semifinal loss at Osbourn High School. Division I, American University offered Johnson the scholarship following the game.

American University is located in Washington, D.C., and is a member of the Patriot League. As of tonight they are in 2nd place in the Patriot League standings.

Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, PA, is currently undefeated and in first place in the Patriot League; their coaching staff offered Johnson a scholarship following his 29-point, 10 assist, 9 rebound performance in a win at Briar Woods over the Christmas holidays.

Several more Division I schools have expressed an interest in Johnson including George Washington University, Holy Cross, Fairfield, Mount Saint Mary's, Loyola, and James Madison.
