Basketball: Updating Possible Region Division 3 and Division Boys and Girls Brackets

(Feb. 16, 2012) - A puff of white smoke from our high school basketball bracket central bunker was a clear signal that Jeremy "Hoops" Huber was ready to give his latest update and also that he was frying bacon again ...

So here goes ... please no wagering on this until the pairing are made official:

Teams in bold have their spots locked (I believe)

Division 4 Boys
#1 Loudoun Valley - #8 Park View
#2 Sherando - #7 Heritage
#3 Potomac Falls - #6 Loudoun Co.
#4 Briar Woods - #5 Millbrook


Division 3 Boys
Western Albemarle and Charlottesville will flip-flop depending who wins the Jefferson district title; unless their is some clause in the JD that gives the number 2 in the regular season a pass over tournament results, Monticello will fall out for Warren County (a team that went 6 and 13 during the regular season; with 3 of those wins coming in district, and 2 out of district against a SINGLE A team!)

#3 Handley - #6 Woodgrove
#4 Fauquier - #5 W. Albemarle


Division 4 Girls
County and Sherando girls are already locked in as two's in their district no matter what; the rest of the teams come from the Dulles as no other district has a team above a #5 in their league (besides Millbrook, Powhatan and Sherando)

#2 Powhatan - #7 Briar Woods
#3 Loudoun Co. - #6 Dominion
#4 Sherando - #5 Heritage


Division 3 Girls
D-3 girls is still wide open because of Charlottesville girls pulling that upset to get into the title game in the Jefferson...they could move all the way up to 4th, or stay at 7
