Volleyball: Freedom's Clark Named AAA Coach of the Year; Six Area Girls Named 1st Team All-State

(Feb. 7, 2012) - Freedom High School girls volleyball coach Jim Clark was named the AAA Coach of the Year by the Virginia High School Coaches Association and six are girls picked up first team all-state nods including Kaitlyn LaMantia and Jasmine Jackson of Freedom and Ryan Ackermann in AAA and Gabby Serafin and Jenna Strange of Loudoun County and Stephanie Yokoyama of Heritage in AA.

In addition, Broad Run's Mallory Brickerd in AAA and Loudoun County's Katrina Kirby in AA were second team and in AAA Stone Bridge's Sarah Fairchild and Freedom's Andrea Phung were Honorable Mention. Complete teams:
