Boys Basketball: Broad Run JR Nigel Johnson Named Cedar Run District Player of the Year

(Feb. 15, 2012) - Broad Run High School junior Nigel Johnson has been named the Cedar Run District boys basketball Player of the Year in a vote of the district's coaches.

Johnson is second in the Washington D.C. area in scoring according to the Washington Post, averaging 29.3 points per game. Johnson, who scored a Loudoun all-time record of 55 points last week in a 109-104 overtime loss to Osbourn, has already scored 703 points on the season with at least one game left. He hasn't scored less than 19 in a contest this year and scored 30+ 10 times.

Freedom junior Darren Hawkins and Broad Run senior Ryan McNamee were named second team. Complete selections:
