(Feb. 5, 2012) - Loudoun County High School, crowing three consecutive individual champions Saturday evening from 132 to 145 pounds at the Dulles District meet, piled up 209.5 points to capture the school's first district wrestling title since 1974.
Potomac Falls was runner-up with 172 and Woodgrove third at 164.
Even though Raider Scott Rossell was beaten by Loudoun Valley's Josh Hawk in the 126 finals, the Raider run was on as Logan Smith (132), A.J. Pittas (138) and Hunter Day (145) all climbed to the top of the podium. Cory Dickey was runner-up for LC at 220.
Potomac Falls and Woodgrove each had five in the finals like the Raiders with Louis Ives (106), Batchka Zulkuu (152) and Zach Causey (170) winning for the Panthers and Bryce Rohrer (220) winning for the Wolverines.
Also winners: Saxon Downs of Tuscarora (113), Michael Hulcher of Briar Woods (120), Josh Cassasa-Maple of Loudoun Valley (160), David Garvis of Loudoun Valley (182), Emile Khattar of Dominion (195) and Ronald Cruz of Park View (285).
