Ashburn (Oct. 16, 2009) - The rain Thursday night may have kept the crowd small at Stone Bridge High School -- even on turn-back-the-decade $3 admission night in honor of the school's 10-year anniversary -- but nothing could rain on the Bulldogs volleyball parade as SB swept Langley, 25-12, 25-19, 25-22, in a AAA Liberty District match.

The Bulldogs are now 13-2 and have worked their way into the Top 10 in the Washington Post rankings.

"We have a lot of attack options," said Bulldog coach Jill Raschiatore on a night where she was honored for 10 years with the school and program.

Stone Bridge set the tone by running away with the first game. In the second game, Langley was even at 15-15 but the Bulldogs pulled away for the 2-0 lead and in the third game, SB, battled a tough Saxon team down the stretch to clinch the sweep.

Loudoun County Sweeps Park View
Loudoun County started off fast and cruised to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-5) sweep over Park View on Thursday night in Dulles District action. The balanced Raiders got contributions from everyone including: Juliane Hanna (9 kills, 6 digs, 9 points, 1 block), Jenna Strange (6 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs), Emily Vandegrift (5 kills), Molly Baldwin (4 kills, 2 digs), Sammy Dormio (3 kills, 3 digs, 3 points, 2 aces), Rachel Arigo (3 kills, 5 aces, 5 points, 1 block), Erin Dancy (2 kills), Allie Cain (2 blocks, 1 kill), Katrina Kirby (2 points, 1 kill, 1 ace), Robin Marsala (18 assists, 10 points, 2 digs, 2 aces, 1 kill), Colleen Bowlds (13 assists, 3 points, 2 digs, 2 aces), Gabby Serafin (15 digs, 9 points), Kathleen Horvath (11 points, 4 digs, 5 aces).

The Raiders improved to 15-2 (8-1) on the season, and the JV also swept Park View to improve to 14-2 on the season. The Raiders return to action next Thursday as they host the Titans of Dominion High School.
