Girls Volleyball: Loudoun Valley, Stone Bridge Advance; Heritage's Season Ends in 5 Sets at Powhatan

(Nov. 6, 2012) - Loudoun Valley High School advanced to the Region II quarterfinals and a date with top seed Loudoun County with a win on the road Monday at Fauquier, and Stone Bridge High School advanced to the Northern Region quarterfinals with a sweep over Lake Braddock.

The Bulldogs will host Centreville tonight. The Northern Region bracket was turned upside as the No. 4 seed from the Liberty, James Madison, upset the Patriot top seed Woodson and the Concorde No. 4 seed Centreville knocked off the National top seed Yorktown. Liberty No. 1 Langley barely survived becoming a third top seed to fall after the Saxons beat Patriot No. 4 seed T.C. Williams in five sets.

Heritage had its season end with a 5-set loss at Powhatan.
