Basketball: Thurs. Nov. 29 Scoreboard

(Nov. 30, 2012) - Heritage and Loudoun County came away with wins at the Cheers Sports Tip Off Classic boys basketball tournament in Leesburg and Dominion girls finished 2-0 at the Brown's Dulles Nissan Tip Off Classic. In early Dulles District action, the Tuscarora girls edged neighbor Leesburg Heritage, 44-41.

And in non-district action, Woodgrove girls took an early season showdown with Stone Bridge among others games:

The Skinny: Mike Anderson -- intercepting passes on the football field about a week ago -- led the Raiders with 20 points and had six assists.

Girls Basketball
Woodgrove 50, Stone Bridge 33
The Skinny: Woodgrove jumped out to 14-5 first quarter lead and didn't look back in this win. Sarah Hardison led the Wolverines with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Brooke Basinger added 12 points and Brittany Basinger scored 10 points with six assists and four steals.

Brown's Dulles Nissan Tip Off Classic
Thomas Jefferson 42, Brentsville 33
Dominion 46, Marshall 44
The Skinny: The 9th Annual Brown's Dulles Nissan Tip Off Classic concluded with two hotly contested games. In the first game, the Thomas Jefferson Colonials pulled away at the end to fend off a determined Brentsville Tigers team, 42-33. 

In the second game, the home team Titans defended their home court advantage and defeated the Marshall Statesmen, 46-44. It was another phenomenal second half performance by the Titans as they start their season 2-0.
