News: VHSL Alignment Committee Meets Tuesday

(Nov. 12, 2012) - The Virginia High School League's new Alignment Committee will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the VHSL office in Charlottesville.

The Alignment Committee is charged with reviewing the 2013-14 and 2014-15 Conference Alignment Plan that had been presented to the Executive Committee in September (http://www.vhsl.org/doc/upload/Item%2030-final-recommended-conferences-alignment-plan-for-2013-14-and-2014-151.pdf). The committee will consider the plan in terms of the following motion made at the September Executive Committee meeting:

Thomas Taylor moved, Brad Qualls seconded and the committee voted 25-0 to table the Conference Alignment Plan and empowered an Alignment Committee to (1) be elected by the 12 Conferences at the October Meeting and (2) act within the guidelines of the conferences as recommended by the VIAAA Resolution to present a plan for vote at the December Executive Committee meeting.
