The high school seniors honored at this event are those in the Class of 2013 lass from the 12 LCPS high schools with a graduating class and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology who have ranked in the top 5 percent of their class academically during the first three years of their high school career. Fourteen students are being recognized for their selection as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, two for selection as a National Achievement Scholarship semifinalist and 10 for selection as a Hispanic Achievement Scholarship semifinalist.
The high schools being honored at the 1 p.m. banquet are Broad Run, Dominion, Heritage, Loudoun Valley, Stone Bridge, Tuscarora and Thomas Jefferson. Briar Woods, Freedom, Loudoun County, Park View, Potomac Falls and Woodgrove high schools will be honored at the 6 p.m. banquet.
Since 1983, the Excellence in Education Banquet has honored 3,878 of Loudoun’s best students.
