Competitive Cheer: Briar Woods Wraps up Regular Season Dulles District Title

(Oct. 5, 2011) - The Briar Woods High School competitive cheer squad's quest for a third straight VHSL AA state title is on target as the Falcons won the Dulles District regular season title Tuesday by winning the second mini meet at Woodgrove High School.

Briar Woods also took the first mini meet, last week at Dominion, to finish with a two-meet total of 490 points. Runner-up Loudoun County scored 418 in the two meets followed by Dominion at 399.

The Dulles District postseason competition will be hosted by Briar Woods on Oct. 19.

Freedom captured the 6th Annual Park View Spiritfest Red Division while Loudoun County was runner-up in the Blue Division to Stafford.
