Competitive Cheer: Battlefield Edges Broad Run on Tiebreaker for Cedar Run District Title

(Oct. 20, 2011) - It couldn't get any closer last night at the AAA Cedar Run District competitive cheer meet as Battlefield High School edged Broad Run for the championship by just a half-point on the tiebreaker.

Both squads scored 227 -- based upon the total of three of five judges' scores (high and low are not counted) minus safety deductions -- and when the tiebreaker was used -- adding in the high and low scores -- the Bobcats were celebrating with 379.5 points to the Spartans 379.

Freedom finished third at 224, just three behind the top two and Patriot scored 210 for fourth.
