Girls Basketball Round-up: SB Opens Liberty with Win; BW, LC and PF Grab Dulles Wins

Sara Stancik had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Cori Prince added 10 points and five assists as the Bulldogs opened AAA Liberty District play with a 20-point victory.

Briar Woods 65, Dominion 34
The Falcons, still missing senior Kim Bell, defeated the Titans with Caroline Herndon scoring 11
and Brittany Gilbert adding 10 points.

Potomac Falls 45, Broad Run 31
Raven Short scored 19 points and Symmone Berry added 11 as the Panthers knocked off the Spartans in Dulles District play.

PF improves to 2-0 and 5-2 while BR slips to 1-1 and 4-2.

Rebecca Perez added nine points for the Panthers and 11 rebounds and Jasmine Jeffries grabbed nine rebounds.

Morgan Roehling led the Spartans with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Loudoun County 71, Park View 22
In front of many former great Loudoun County High School players, including five from the 2006 team that posted a school best 29-2 record, the Raiders rolled over the visiting Patriots by a score of 71-22.

County jumped out to a 22-7 first quarter advantage as senior Alissa Kain scored 12 points. Then, junior Brittany Batts scored 10 second quarter points as County led 47-14 at halftime. Kain and Batts both scored 18 points each in that first half.

Kain would finish with a team high 24 points while Batts scored 21 points and dished out six assists.

Senior Kendra Holmes, playing point guard for the Raiders, finished with seven points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

All 11 players for County contributed in the win for County as the Lady Raiders improve to 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in Dulles District play.

Chloe Owens led the Patriots with eight points.
