Girls Basketball: LC Scores 33 Straight to Open in 97-30 Romp Over Hylton

Chantilly (Dec. 28, 2009) - The Loudoun County High School girls basketball team scored the first 33 points Monday and went on to a big 97-30 first round win in the Pohanka Chantilly Holiday Classic Tournament over the Hylton Bulldogs.

The Raiders (6-1) 33-0 after the first quarter as Alissa Kain and Brittany Batts combined for 25 points. County would extend its lead to 56-14 at halftime.


Kain finished with a game-high 27 points to go along with four assists and four steals. Batts scored 21 points as she also contributed four assists and three steals.

Kendra Holmes did a little bit of everything for the Raiders, scoring 14 points and dishing out 10 assists. Holmes also just missed a quad double with eight rebounds, eight steals, and four blocked shots.

Sophomore Casey Cummings had 11 rebounds to go along with nine points.

County will be back in action, Tuesday night, at 9:30 as they face Edison in the semifinals.
