Sterling (Dec. 11, 2009) - The Freedom High School girls basketball team showed why it is ranked No. 11 in the Metro area Friday night as the Eagles forced 32 turnovers and held Dominion to six points through three quarters on the way to a 75-13 Dulles District opening victory.
Freedom improves to 4-0 on the season and Dominion drops to 0-4.
Dionna Scott scored 24 points to lead Freedom and Jessica Escorza added 12 points with six assists, six blocks and five steals. Alexis Mayo had 12 while Kelsey Buchanan scored eight with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Freedom scored 24 of the first 26 points in the game and led 58-6 after three quarters.
