College Corner: Potomac Falls Grad Adrian Tracy Earns Multiple All-American Football Honors

Williamsburg (Dec. 15, 2009 - A day after earning All-America honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation, William and Mary senior defensive end and Potomac Falls High School graduate Adrian Tracy garnered another national accolade by being selected to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS All-America Team.

A Buchanan Award candidate and two-time first-team all-conference honoree, Tracy was one of the country’s most dominant defensive players this season. The Sterling, Va., native ranked seventh nationally with 1.57 tackles for a loss per game and 15th at 0.79 sacks per game. With 12 sacks, he equaled the single-season school record established by Luke Cullinane in 1996. Additionally, Tracy ranked sixth in the conference in tackles among defensive linemen with 5.6 per game.

Tracy help the Tribe to tie a school mark for victories in a season as the team advanced to the NCAA semifinals before falling over the weekend to Villanova, 14-13. Read more about Tracy and William and Mary football here!


Heritage High School grad Nick Cadwell continues his fine work at West Virginia on the football scout team, picking up "Defensive Scout Player of the Game" honors against Rutgers.

Broad Run High School grad and Longwood University sophomore Shane Johnson was named to the Atlantic Soccer Conference All-Academic team. Johnson, who missed part of the season with an injury, helped Longwood advance to the conference championship with a goal in a, 3-2, semifinal win over Houston Baptist. The Lancers fell to Adelphia, 2-1, in the title match.
