Youth Sports - Gymnastics - APEX Teams Finish 2nd and 3rd in Super Team Competition

(Nov. 23, 2010) - The APEX Gymnastics teams finished second and third in the Super Team Gymnastics competition at the Commonwealth Cup on Nov. 21-22. The Level 5 and 6 teams combined for a third place finish and $250 in prize money and the Level 7–10 teams combined for a second place finish and $500 in prize money. Many additional gymnasts qualified to their respective sectional and state meets.

Highlights included:


Level 9 – 3rd place team – Madison O’Braitis – 1st place bars, 4th all around, Rebecca Henry – 3rd place beam, Jasmine Denizard 5th place bars, Alex Cocozza – 5th place vault

Level 8 – 4th place team – Caitlin Villavicencio – 5th floor, Victoria Miner – 3rd vault, 2nd beam, 4th all around, Cassidy Gagnon – 2nd vault, 3rd bars, 3rd beam, 2nd all around, Courtney Walker – 5th vault, 4th beam, 5th floor, 5th all around, Kat Friberg – 4th vault

Level 7 – 4th place team – Danielle Shapero – 5th vault, 4th bars, Tess Tibbits – 3rd beam, Caitie Reyes – 4th vault, 5th bars, Julia Thoppil - 4th bars, Alex Donahue – 3rd vault, Taylor Noem – 3rd beam, 4th all around, Kate Zecca – 1st bars, Abby Whittleton – 4th vault, 3rd bars, 4th beam, 4th all around, Marissa Coyle – 4th bars, 5th floor
