Washington, D.C. (Nov. 15, 2010) - Heritage High School's Chuck Carlin and Nicole Feaster had quite a day Monday as they were presented with ESPN Rise Above awards at the Arena Stage.
The ESPN Rise Above awards were presented to six local high school student-athletes (from DC, Loudon and Prince George's Counties) as part of ESPN's Monday Night Football "Chalk Talk" event. The ESPN Rise Above is given for overcoming adversity and excelling in sports and in school. Read more about why Carlin and Feaster received the awards.
Carlin and Feaster, brought family, friends, coaches and school administrators along with them, and ere given a behind-the-scenes tour of the Chalk Talk event as well as a panel discussion with team, NFL and ESPN executives about career opportunities in sports.
After the tour and panel, the athletes were in the front row for the Chalk Talk event which featured their presentation as well as a look at that night's football game with a panel of Redskins and Eagles alumni.
