Cross Country: AAA Teams End Seasons in Tough Regionals

(Nov. 5, 2010) - Heritage, Loudoun Valley and Stone Bridge all had their cross country seasons end Thursday in tough AAA regionals.

The Heritage girls were 8th and Loudoun Valley 9th at the Northwest Regionals at Panorama Farms. Colonial Forge won with 46 points followed by Albemarle (87), Osbourn Park (88) and Mountain View (96). The top four advance to States.

On the boys side, Valley was 10th and Heritage 11th. Stafford won with 55 points followed by Colonial Forge (75), Riverbend (82) and Albemarle (95).

Lisa Pallotta (20:38.30) and Matthew Holton (17:36.71) paced Heritage while Abigail Polizotto (20:53.10) and Ben walker (17:08.50) led Valley.

At the Northern Region meet at Burke Lake, the Stone Bridge boys were 14th. West Potomac (78), Lake Braddock (84), South Lakes (130) and Herndon (147) all move on.

Brady Guertin (16:35.90) paced the Bulldogs. The Stone Bridge girls did not qualify for the Northern Region meet as a team but Danielle Swasey led the individual SB runners with a 19:28.40. Lake Braddock (71), TJ (102), West Potomac (108) and West Springfield (130) advance.
