Golf: Season Opens with Licklider Tournament in Front Royal; Dominion Takes Third and Loudoun County Fourth

(Aug. 6, 2010) - The 2010-11 high school sports season officially teed off Thursday with the 9th annual Curly Licklider Memorial golf tournament in Front Royal. Albemarle won the event with a 319 followed by Centreville (321), Dominion (323) and Loudoun County (324).

In all eight of 12 Loudoun schools competed including the debut of Tuscarora and Woodgrove high school athletic programs.

Skyline's Zach Henry shot a 68 to take top individual honors. Sam Early of Loudoun County was runner-up at 74 and three players were tied at 75 including Kevin Cook of Loudoun County.
