(Aug. 19, 2010) - Battlefield High School, after falling to Loudoun Valley in last week's Cedar Run District mini tournament, turned the tables on Monday by beating the Vikes with a school record-tying 294 team score.
Loudoun Valley finished with a 304 in the 18-hole, 72 par match played at Loudoun Golf and Country Club
Low medalist for the match was Battlefield’s Karishma Thiagaraj, who blistered the course in 4-under par 68. A junior, she is a new student/athlete at Battlefield and recently won the Maryland Amateur Championship. Also for Battlefield PJ Leonard had a 74, while Doc Schulte and Connor Perez each posted a 76.
Senior Scott Davidson had the low score for the Vikings with a 74 with Tanner Welsh posting 75. Sophomore Scott Mumpower carded a 77 and freshman Ian Hildebrand had 78 to round out the scoring for Valley.
