Liberty District Playoff Update: Stone Bridge Girls Soccer Wins Tournament Title; Bulldog Baseball and Softball Fall in Semi's

(May 22, 2010) - The Stone Bridge High School girls soccer team remained unbeaten on the season by edging Madison, 1-0, Friday night at McLean High School to capture the AAA Liberty District tournament title. Bulldog baseball and softball both fell in the tournament semifinals.

Bulldog freshman Murielle Tiernan score the only goal of the Liberty District title game in the second half with just five minutes remaining as Stone Bridge improved to 14-0-2 on the season. Madison beat Stone Bridge in baseball, 6-4, and McLean defeated Stone Bridge in softball, 7-3. Both teams still advance to next Friday's regional playoffs.
