Cedar Run District Playoff Update: Loudoun Valley Sweeps Boys, Girls Lacrosse Titles; Heritage Boys Lax Comeback for Regional Bid

(May 22, 2010) - The Loudoun Valley High School boys and girls lacrosse teams swept Battlefield Friday to claim AAA Cedar Run District tournament titles to go with their regular-season crowns. The Viking boys blasted the Bobcats, 15-2, and the Viking girls cruised, 15-6.

While the Valley girls will have a bye in the Northwest Region quarterfinals on Monday, the Valley boys will host a familiar foe as local rival Heritage came from a 7-3 halftime deficit to defeat Stonewall Jackson Friday in the consolation game. The Pride will travel to Purcellville to face the Vikes on Monday in the regional quarterfinals.

The Pride defense shut the Raiders out in the third quarter while the offense scored six times to take the lead, which Heritage never gave up.
