College Update: PFalls Grad Aaron Sweger Helps Virginia Tech Advance to the National Club Baseball Association World Series

(May 14, 2010) - Club sports are a good outlet for serious athletes who don't want to compete at the NCAA level in college but desire a challenge greater than intra-murals. At Virginia Tech the Hokies club baseball team, helped by Potomac Falls High School grad Aaron Sweger, has qualified for the National Club Baseball Association World Series which will be held n Fort Meyers, Fla., later this month.

Tech, winners of the Mid-Atlantic Conference and ranked No. 11 in the nation heading into regionals, beat NC State and East Carolina to win the winner's bracket before defeating NC State 15-2 to win the Regional last weekend.

The World Series is a double elimination tournament with the eight regional winners and begins on May 27 and run through June 3. Sweger has been the DH and has played First Base most of the year.
