(Oct. 27, 2010) - Stone Bridge High School swept to yet another Liberty District win Tuesday night, 25-8, 25-11, 25-19, to improve to 18-1 overall and 6-0 in district and set up a match Thursday at Langley that will decide the district's top seed for next week's tournament which will be hosted by Stone Bridge.
Langley improved to 6-0 as well in district after a tense 25-14, 21-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-7 victory over Fairfax Tuesday.
The first round of the district tournament will take place on Monday, Nov. 1 at the high seed. The games will begin at 7 p.m. The semifinal round will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at Stone Bridge with the first game played at 5:30 p.m. and the second game at 7 p.m.
The championship game will be played on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door. Stone Bridge is located at 43100 Hay Road in Ashburn. For further information, call Dave Hembach at 571-252-2210.
The winner of Stone Bridge vs. Langley will be the No. 1 seed with the loser No. 2. Fairfax at 5-2 in the No. 3 seed. TJ (3-3) can clinch the No. 4 seed with a win against Marshall (0-6) Thursday. McLean (2-4) finishes with Madison (1-5) and South Lakes is done at 2-5.
In Tuesday's quick win, Amanda Miller had 26 assists and 12 service points for the Bulldogs.
