Football: VHSL Ratings - Stone Bridge and McLean Tied in Northern Region D5 in Advance of Friday's Showdown

(Oct. 25, 2010) - In the latest VHSL football ratings, undefeated Stone Bridge is tied for first in the Northern Region Division 5 standings with McLean at 28.5 points. The two teams tangle Friday in Ashburn with the Liberty District title and homefield advantage in the regional playoffs at stake.

Also in AAA, Loudoun Valley at 25.1 in the No. 4 seed currently in the Northwest Region Division 5 playoffs. If the Vikes can maintain that spot they will earn a home playoff date in the regional quarterfinals.

In AA, four area teams are in the playoff picture with Broad Run ranked No. 2 in the Region II Division 4 rankings with a 26.3 mark and Briar Woods -- which beat Broad Run but has two losses overall to the Spartans one -- is tied for third at 25.8. In Division 3 in Region II, Park View and Dominion held their playoff ground despite losses last Friday, mostly due to tough non-district schedules the two teams have slated. The Patriots are at No. 5 with a 19.8 and the Titans, looking for the school's first ever playoff trip, are No. 6 at 19.1.
