Competitive Cheer: Dulles District Regular Season Title Up for Grabs Tonight at Woodgrove

Purcellville (Oct. 6, 2010) - The Dulles District regular-season competitive cheer title is up for grabs tonight at the second district mini-meet of the season which starts at 7 p.m. at Woodgrove High School.

In last week's first district mini held at Dominion High School, Briar Woods and Broad Run each scored 253 points with the Falcons claiming first on a tiebreaker. Briar Woods is the defending district as well as state champion.

Scores from tonight's meet will be combined with last week's scores to determine the regular season champion. This is the first year that the Dulles District is crowning a regular season champion in competitive cheer. Tonight's winner will earn an automatic bid to the Region II meet.

In addition to the regular season champion, three other Dulles teams will move on to the Region II meet. Those teams will advance from the Oct. 20 Dulles District meet which is being hosted by Briar Woods.
